What happens if my dog is injured during a grooming session? At Paws N Effect, we prioritize the safety and well-being of pets above all else. Dogs and puppies are living beings that can react differently to sensations and scenarios. Our grooming equipment is designed to minimize any risks during use. However, in the rare instance that your dog is injured while using our products, we recommend the following steps: 1. **Immediate Care**: We carefully assess the injury. If it's minor we clean the wound with a pet-safe antiseptic and apply a bandage if necessary and inform pet parents. Or 2. **Veterinary Attention**: For more serious injuries, contact your veterinarian immediately to ensure your dog receives the appropriate care.

What is an introduction or puppy groom offered by Paws N Effect? An introduction or puppy groom is designed to familiarize pets, especially younger ones, with the grooming process in a gentle and stress-free manner. We understand the importance of making this initial experience positive and comfortable. Our introduction or puppy groom includes a basic groom to help your pet get accustomed to the equipment and procedures. This typically involves a gentle bath using hypoallergenic shampoos, a light brush-out to remove loose fur, and a nail trim. The session is handled with utmost care to ensure that pets feel at ease, laying a strong foundation for future grooming sessions. By starting with an introduction groom, pet owners can ensure that their furry friends develop a positive association with grooming, making it easier and more easier for both pets and owners in the long run.

Do we shave double-coated dogs, and what are the best practices for grooming them?We provide a range of specialized grooming equipment designed for the unique needs of double-coated dogs. Double-coated breeds have two layers of fur: an outer coat of guard hairs and a dense, soft undercoat. It is generally not recommended to shave double-coated dogs as this can interfere with their natural temperature regulation and coat regrowth. Instead, our grooming tools, such as undercoat rakes, de-shedding brushes, and high-velocity dryers, are designed to effectively manage shedding and maintain coat health without compromising the dog's natural protection. Proper grooming with the right equipment helps in preventing matting, reducing allergens, and keeping the coat clean and healthy. We can alternatively provide shaving services with the warning that shaving these coats may cause damage and a consent form is signed.

Do I need vaccines for my dog before grooming services? The safety and well-being of all pets are our top priorities. While provide tailored grooming services right at your door, we strongly recommend that all dogs be up-to-date on their vaccinations before any grooming session. Vaccines help protect your pet from contagious diseases that can spread easily in environments where multiple animals are present. Rabies will be required to be on file, while other vaccines are recommended they are not required. Keeping your dog's vaccinations current not only safeguards their health but also aligns with our commitment to providing a safe and hygienic grooming experience. Please consult with your veterinarian to ensure your pet's vaccinations are up-to-date before scheduling a service with Paws N Effect.
